I, Christopher Mency, am writing this letter of appreciation to Taylor Davis and his organization “Help One Save One Prison Ministry for Men”. I was introduced to this ministry for men in 2015 when I was in the Clayton Transition Center. The Program for the me was very instrumental in my spiritual growth of life from a spiritual depression state. It also allowed me to participate in the rights and benefits that the program had to offer. We participated in community service at least once a month. We also participated in going to the 12 Stone Church services. Being of service in the community service was a way for me to give back to the community as well as the society, but mostly to get out of my self-centered self. It gave me a sense of purpose in helping and being of service to others and not expecting anything in return. I really enjoyed the outings with the brothers. The program also allowed me to be a part of the church services at 12 Stone church and The Dugout Group of men. This is where I became more open minded and willing to accept God to be the Director of my life and I be the actor. I felt a sense of love for all in the church services and with the group of men at the Dugout Group meetings. I enjoyed the church services so much that I look at the service on line at home every week. I always get a sense of spiritual uplifting and strength that I need to grow more mature in my faith and belief system. I am and will always be grateful to Mr. Taylor Davis and the other volunteers for their service and assistance. I felt a part of and not apart from whenever I participated in the program. I continue to stay in contact with Mr. Taylor. I continue to grow spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally in my recovery of knowing my life’s purpose today. I have an outstanding spiritual men’s group that I attend faithfully every week. I participate in volunteer services at the VA Hospital. These activities all stem from that saying “It’s not about me”. It’s about being of service to God and others.
Sincerely,
Christopher Mency
